Angel Tree and the Oak Brook Community Church
Evergreen Bank Group was a participant in the Angel Tree Project through the Oak Brook Community Church again this year. The project connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts.
Evergreen was given the names of eight children to buy presents for. Through employee monetary donations, Evergreen was able to raise enough money to fulfill each child's wish list. After a team of employees wrapped the gifts, they were delivered to the Oak Brook Community Church and will be delivered to the children on behalf of their parents on Christmas.
Ribbon Cutting Event
Evergreen Bank Group celebrated the installation of its new sign with a Ribbon-Cutting event on Thursday, December 1st. Village Trustee representatives, Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce staff along with members of the community attended the event. The landmark sign is placed at the top of the Regency Towers building, located on the southeast corner of Route 83 and 22nd street. Darin Campbell, Chief Executive Officer for Evergreen Bank Group said, "We couldn't be more excited about our sign on top of the building. It looks great and it gives us a real presence in the market."
The new bank sign represents the collaboration between the Village of Oak Brook and Evergreen Bank Group. A new sign ordinance was created and adopted to provide Oak Brook businesses more signage options. "The Village and the Oak Brook Chamber were a pleasure to work with and both clearly understand and support the Oak Brook business community," stated Campbell. The new sign ordinance fosters development of business growth and prosperity.

Are You Prepared For When Disaster Strikes?
Unfortunately, our news has been filled with stories of disasters lately. First we saw the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and the nuclear crisis that ensued. Recently, we've seen severe weather across the United States producing massive flooding and destructive tornadoes. These events have left hundreds of thousands of people displaced, many having lost their homes and personal belongings. As you reach out and try to help those in need during these difficult times, you should also ask yourself if you and your family are prepared should a disaster strike.
In conjunction with your spring cleaning this year, it's a perfect time to develop a disaster plan of your own. Our May electronic newsletter has an article that includes tips to get started. We also recommend organizing your paperwork and placing important documents and belongings into a safety deposit box. If space is a concern, a great option is creating an emergency document archive on a flash drive and placing the flash drive in your safety deposit box. The archive should include scanned copies of items such as your birth certificate, social security card, driver's license, insurance policies, insurance card, vehicle owner's certificates, wills and trust documents, homeowner's real estate documents, etc.
Should you be interested in opening a safety deposit box at one of our locations, please contact an executive banker today. We look forward to seeing you soon.

During the month of May, our Evergreen Park branch staff plans to present a Teach Children to Save program to the students of the Most Holy Redeemer School in Evergreen Park, IL. Classrooms ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grade will be taught about the concept of money and the importance of saving at a young age.
Evergreen Bank Group's efforts are part of the American Bankers Association's Teach Children to Save national campaign. Designed to help raise awareness about the important role that banks and bankers play in helping young people develop lifelong savings habits, the program has reached 4 million young people with the help of some 97,000 banker volunteers.
Parents are encouraged to join in the efforts to promote the importance of financial literacy at a young age. A great way to help your children understand about the concept of money is to start them off with their own Kids Statement Savings account. Please contact an executive banker to open an account today. For more information regarding the Teach Children to Save program, please visit www.teachchildrentosave.com.
