Santa Visit a Success

December 2010

On December 19, children at our Oak Brook location enjoyed a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. As Santa passed out gifts, other items were collected for those in need. Employees and customers donated over 100 wish list items for the Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Evergreen Bank Group staff members hand delivered the items to the Loyola Campus House to help provide a 'home away from home' for families with hospitalized children at little or no cost. For all those involved, we appreciate your support and generosity.

'Tis the Season to be Giving

Angel Tree and the Oak Brook Community Church

December 2010

The Oak Brook branch was a participant in the Angel Tree Project through the Oak Brook Community Church. The project connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts for the children.

Evergreen was given the names of five children to fulfill a portion of each individual wish list. Through employee monetary donations, Evergreen was able to raise over $300 and fulfill seven individual wish lists, two more than originally asked. Thirty gifts were purchased and wrapped by a team of Oak Brook employees. The gifts were delivered to the Oak Brook Community Church, and will be delivered to the children on behalf of their parents on Christmas.

Evergreen Park and Ronald McDonald House Charities

November 2010

Seven staff volunteers from our Evergreen Park location donated their time on November 22, 2010 to serve families dinner at the Oak Lawn Ronald McDonald House. Four staff members cooked sloppy joes for forty people while three staff members served and cleaned up. Along with providing dinner, the volunteers also brought non-perishable food, wish list items and stuffed animals donated by Evergreen Park customers and staff.

All seven staff members felt that it was an extremely rewarding experience and plan to volunteer again. The families staying at the house were appreciative of our staff's kindness so close to the Thanksgiving holiday. The Evergreen Park branch will continue to collect non-perishable food and wish list items throughout the year to donate to the House.
